What To Donate:
What would you wear to a job interview? That is exactly the type of clothing we are seeking. Please consider the following list of items that we do and don’t accept.
- Modern business suits and blazers
- Professional pants, skirts and dresses
- Professional handbags
- Coats and jackets (business and casual)
- Professional footwear, including flats
- Long-sleeve blouses
- Jewelry, belts, and accessories
- Denim
- Cotton leggings
We are urgently in need of the following:
- Professional handbags
- Professional footwear (sizes 5, 6, and 10+)
- Long skirts and simple long dresses
- Plus-size clothing (size 16+)
- Unopened, non-expired beauty and personal care items
If you have a donation of these urgent items please email [email protected] to arrange an urgent drop-off appointment.
Please note: Due to limited storage space and resources, we cannot accept any other types of clothing. Kindly refrain from donating items that are worn, stained, or damaged, as they are not suitable for our clients. We are committed to serving them with dignity and respect.
We kindly request that you refrain from donating the following items:
- Sportswear and beachwear
- Formal attire including prom dresses, wedding dresses and evening gowns
- Sleepwear/Loungewear
- Outdated items
- Items requiring cleaning or repair
- Men’s clothing (please consider donating to Working Gear)
- Children’s clothing
- Hangers
- Suitcases

Once you’ve collected your clothing donations please make an appointment to drop your items off at our office.

Looking for more ways to supply our boutique? Kits for a Cause has partnered with Dress for Success Vancouver to offer beauty and personal hygiene kits to the women we serve. Every kit purchased empowers a woman to achieve financial independence and personal success.
PLEASE NOTE: Donated garments that are workplace appropriate are used in our Boutique and provided to clients during their Dressing Services appointments. Items that are not suitable for our current boutique needs may be sold through trusted donation partners to generate funds for our programs, or redistributed through other community organizations. Designer and luxury pieces that fall outside our guidelines are redirected to Turnabout Community, Canada’s first luxury clothing reseller supporting nonprofits like Dress for Success Vancouver. Through this partnership, 60% of the proceeds from resold items are returned to us, helping to sustainably manage inventory, fund our programs, and ensure every client enjoys a fair and consistent experience in our boutique.
If our drop-off times do not work for you, you can still drop off your on-trend, seasonally appropriate business attire and accessories at Covenant House or Turnabout Luxury Resale. You can consign your items at Turnabout Luxury Resale under the Dress for Success Vancouver account (#66258), and 60% of the resale value will be donated to Dress for Success Vancouver.
