Raising Financially Confident Families: From Kids’ Money Habits to Investing Basics
Claire Huxtable & Christina Ma
Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 5 PM to 6:30 PM (PDT) | Virtual (Zoom)
Join us on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 5 PM for an engaging session with Claire Huxtable, Equity Analyst, and Christina Ma, Associate Portfolio Manager, both CFA Society Vancouver volunteers and parents who combine professional expertise with lived experience to share practical strategies for building financial confidence at home and beyond.
This workshop is designed to help families build financial confidence at home and beyond. Whether you are figuring out how to talk to your kids about money or wondering how to start investing yourself, this session meets you where you are.
Together, Claire and Christina will explore age-appropriate money conversations with children, the allowance question, money lessons in a world of digital and contactless spending, and how common investment vehicles work, including GICs, bonds, stocks, mutual funds, and ETFs. The session will also cover practical, low-barrier ways to begin investing through options like a TFSA or a simple index fund portfolio.
You will walk away with:
- A simple framework to start a money conversation with your child
- Clarity on investment options that suit your current situation
- The confidence to ask the right questions of your bank, your advisor, or yourself
An interactive Q&A is included so you can get answers to what matters most to you.
